Challenge Complete

The Wolverhampton Cycle Challenge ran from 7 to 27 September 2009. 647 people from 40 organisations took part, logging an incredible 37,911 miles via 3,963 trips. The Challenge inspired 202 new cyclists to take to their bikes. 48% of registrants were non-cyclists (cycling less than once a month) and 24% were occasional cyclists (cycling 1-4 times a month).

Three weeks after the 2009 Challenge:

  • 61% of non-cyclists reported that they intended to cycle more in the next 6 months
  • 68% of occasional cyclists reported that they intended to cycle more in the next 6 months
